What is Luck?
Your current Luck counts the Zodiac Stars that shine in your favour.
The other day I read Franc’s Dungeon Stack and there are encounters based on the die result on the Luck roll. It made me realise Luck can be tied to table results or used as a measure.
So what does Luck do?
Some ways to play with the luck roll:
Luck is tied to a table of 11 Jury Members who are debating the outcome of someone's continued existence. They will be divided and, pass or fail, the voter associated with that result on the Luck Roll is the one who made the decision.
During character generation for an eternal soldier, Luck is the number of generations they have survived. If they fail their Luck Test, they have not survived and a new character must be played.
Luck measures the pieces of manna you are blessed with in the desert. Should you fail you get none.
On a failed luck roll, the dice show the number of stings bees have given you.
You find a crossbow. Does it have any bolts with it? Test your luck. If you pass, there is as much ammo as the dice result shows.
Attempting to shoplift… Test your luck. The results are tied to a table where a success result is the thing you managed to nab, whereas failure means you were caught attempting to steal that particular object.
Scratch Ticket… The results are a multiplier for the base prize, and failure means you get nothing.
Here's one you can use
You have been struck by the Samurai Slasher... Test your Luck!
If you pass, take damage as normal. If you fail take maximum damage and this part of your body is maimed, pierced or removed altogether.
