Grove of the Gourd Dwarf

THE FAE ROAD OF LIFE

THE FAE ROAD OF LIFE

Faeries begin as Pixies from level 1-3. Pixies are tiny but mighty spell users with an intuitive knowledge of magic and access to many spells. They tend to be childish and cocksure. They begin as tiny L2 magic users with 1HP/Level and flight. They can't wear armor at all.

At Level 3 they become sleepy. They have -1 to all rolls. They must rest inside of a magic egg for one week and grow into a Halfing (half Elf / half Dwarf) to continue gaining experience.

Halflings magic ability is subdued and they can no longer cast spells. They are the size of children and work like thieves, according to their level. They have +1 AC against Ogres sized creatures. As they grow accustomed to their new life, they should also begin to consider an important choice they will soon have to make. Will they walk the path of Muscle or the path of Magic?

At level 5 their development stops once again. To become a Dwarf, they must climb the tallest mountain in the land (UKTHABANG!, faeries always shout its name) and face their shadow self. This is the ritual known as Ekathang! To become an Elf they must enter deep woods and slay a powerful monster of 4HD or higher. This hunt is known as Thilrung! Some shirkers do neither. This is the path of the Leprechaun!

ELF: The Elf begins as a L5 Magic User with several unique aspects. They fight as Thieves and have the ability to walk on water and they can talk to animals. They tend to be gloomy and pacifistic.

DWARF: The Dwarf begins as a L5 Fighter with several unique aspects. They cannot cleave and they have a magic shield which lowers their AC by 1 point (-2 AC at Max Level), as well as +1 HP/level. They always sink in water! They tend to be upbeat and hot-headed.

LEPRECHAUN: The Leprechaun is a L5 Halfling who no longer develops in experience, but whose strength is measured in Gold which they store in a pot they must hide. They keep growing as if they were at Level 5 experience points instead of growing from 0!!
