Grove of the Gourd Dwarf

Poems for Gold Horizon Sessions 1-3

Nothing.
I am worn with cares
I care not for dares
Ikkali home, its all Ive known
Novum, place I call my own

Grown-ups never understand
I just want to be a man

The has-been hero, the lazy chief
The frigid widow, downer seer
All they do is live in fear

And the old men say we steal their youth
Well I'll give mine away, and here's the proof
Wind Fish wish, my only dream
Make me larger than I seem

I took a powder on my tongue
It didnt matter that Im young
I disappeared and so did light
Encased in everlasting night

I gave up and it was good
I no longer need be understood

For the girl with the purple flowers
I went into the woods to find
a flower for my pretty, kind
arms length friend I like to see
Wishing she'd spend time with me

I wish I knew before I changed
But it would simply be so strange
I'll always be your junior... how
I love you, girl, but just learned now
